It’s such a special time of year and, here at The Palm House restaurant, we love Christmas and do everything we can to make the place and atmosphere as festive as we can.
A change of scenery and ambience always make the season more enjoyable, and eating out is a great way to catch up with friends and family in the run-up to December 25, especially if you can’t be together on the big day itself.
And if December is taken up with carol concerts and office parties, why not meet up during the last days of November instead?
Equally, of course, going out means you can concentrate on enjoying each other’s company without anyone having to spend most of their time in the kitchen – not to mention clearing up afterwards.
At The Palm House restaurant, at Runfold, near Farnham, Surrey, we’re getting into the swing of things with a number of options for celebrating, and we’ve gone all-out with decorations, lighting and more to create a delightful atmosphere.
If you either don’t want or are unable to celebrate in the evening, why not enjoy afternoon tea instead? We’ve got heaps of tasty treats for you to tuck into, plus there’s a great sense of occasion with these events at The Palm House.
Take your pick from the sweet or savoury menu. For the former, enjoy a cranberry fruit scone with jam and cream (the order you put them on is up to you!). We also have sandwiches with seasonal fillings including brie and cranberry, honey-roast ham with mustard mayo. Finish with sweet treats including decadent Yule log, macaroons and mini mince pies.
If your tastes lean more towards the savoury, swap the sweet scone for a cheese number topped off with onion chutney, plus a similar selection of sandwiches, followed by miniature versions of puff tartlets, pigs in blankets and quiches.
And, of course, you can’t possibly have afternoon tea without tea, so we serve a great line-up of herbal varieties as well as Early Grey and good old English Breakfast.
· Festive party events
Alternatively, we’re open for Christmas party events, both in the evening and during the day, whether you’re getting together with friends, family, clients, colleagues or are celebrating as a sports team, club or any other group.
Monday to Friday during the day, we offer parties of between 10 and 20 two courses for £28.95 a head, or three for £37.95 in our delightful mezzanine area, with a glass of prosecco or elderflower spritz to kick off proceedings.
Our daytime festive party menu is packed with seasonal staples including a traditional turkey roast, Christmas pudding and more, along with plenty of choice for vegetarians and those with food allergies or intolerances.
Then on Thursday, Friday or Saturday evenings, we throw open our whole premises for exclusive use by parties of up to 120. The menu has a similar array of delicious dishes, and we serve two courses for £32.95, or three for £38.95 a head. Again, your guests can enjoy a festive sparkling glass of something before the meal. (Talking of drinks, check out our extensive menu of beverages.)
Another great option, for just £22.95 a head is our festive grazing table. This is ideal for early evening when people may be going on to eat elsewhere, while also giving guests the flexibility to circulate as they socialise.
With our generous range of meats, cheese, dips and breads, as well as an extensive selection of fruit and vegetables, anyone who isn’t eating elsewhere afterwards can certainly feel as though they’ve had a full meal – a grazing table offers excellent flexibility at a busy time of year.
With convenient and free on-site parking all part of the deal, we create a memorable, indulgent and elegant festive experience.
Finally, it’s also looking a lot like Christmas at The Packhouse, the collection of eclectic stalls in a 400-year-old former hop kiln whose site we share. So combine a visit The Palm House restaurant with a bit of seasonal shopping, pick up some unique gifts and make a night (or day!) of it.
